JEDDAH – Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media Dr. Awwad Al-Awwad handed over on Sunday the third license for operating cinema theaters to the Al-Rashed Empire Cinema Consortium which intends to build 30 cinema theaters in various cities of the Kingdom in the coming three years, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Sunday.

On Dec. 11, 2017 the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media had approved the issuance of licenses to those interested in setting up cinemas with the objective of supporting the cinema sector, stimulating economic diversity and creating job opportunities in new fields in line with the ambitious Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
