Some 200 Saudi volunteers are working in shifts to help government authorities to facilitate the entry procedures for Yemeni pilgrims at Al-Wadeah crossing point in Sharoura governorate.

More than 4,600 pilgrims have crossed into the Kingdom through Al-Wadeah checkpoint during the last four days. A total of 25,000 Yemeni pilgrims are expected to enter the Kingdom for Haj through this checkpoint.

The checkpoint is working around the clock to speed up the entry procedures of the pilgrims.

A number of government departments are providing the required services to the pilgrims.

Customs Department has deployed more employees this year at the checkpoint to facilitate entry procedures. A special lane has been allocated for pilgrims.

The Health Monitoring Center of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Najran region at the checkpoint is conducting medical check up, giving vaccination, medicines and providing the needed health care to the pilgrims. They were also given health bulletin flyers about preventive health practices during Haj.

Meanwhile in Cairo, Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt and Palestine’s permanent representative to the Arab League Diab Allouh received on Sunday morning the first batch of more than 800 Palestinian pilgrims set to leave via Rafah border crossing for Saudi Arabia to perform Haj.

The Palestinian ambassador thanked the authorities in Egypt for services provided to Palestinian pilgrims.
