Panasonic well-positioned to support Saudi Vision 2030

August 07, 2018

JAPANESE electronics giant Panasonic is fully capable of supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 with its continued commitment to developing eco-friendly and energy-efficient products, this according to Majd Majbour, Executive Director, Alesayi Electronics Co., the local partner of Panasonic in KSA.

Saudi Vision 2030 is focused on a cleaner future, and Majbour said that Panasonic has sustainable future at the core of its business philosophy. “Panasonic offers a wide range of technologies/solutions that can meet the Kingdom’s growing demand for environment-friendly products. Worth mentioning, as a testament to their commitment to environmental protection, is our collaboration with them when we opened the Kingdom’s first eco-friendly Panasonic Customer Care Center in Jeddah back when the green movement in the Middle East was still at a nascent stage,” Majbour noted.

Takahiro Kiyama, Director (KSA Sales) Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF), meanwhile, expressed confidence about prospects under the government’s reform program. “We strongly believe that the initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030 will improve the country’s position economically and positively affect the purchasing power of consumers. The Kingdom is our number one focus market and remains very important for Panasonic as it is one of the strongest markets in the Middle East for consumer electronics and technology. Panasonic’s current strategy is focused on the major appliances category. We have established strong market position for small appliances, and going forward, while sustaining the strength of that segment, we will work on the growth of major appliances, such as washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners. We will introduce various models to drive our growth as we see tremendous potential in the major appliances category,” Kiyama said.

Commenting on Alesayi Group’s successful partnership with Panasonic, Majbour said “we have been enjoying a strong and fruitful partnership with Panasonic for 20 years now. We work on a mutual goal, which is to deliver high-quality products in order to be able to respond to greater and changing demands from clients. This, I believe, is the key to our successful partnership.” — SG
