Meet Denny Thomas, Club Level Supervisor

The Ritz Carlton is full of great human stories and one of them includes that of Denny Thomas who has spent 25 years at the Manama, Bahrain property. We spoke to Denny about the art of hospitality; the hotel’s core values and what keeps him motivated after all these years.

“My brothers who are working for Riffa Palace, brought me here. I had just finished my graduation from Calicut University Kerala, India,” Thomas told Saudi Gazette.

“It was my first job at the property from 1994. I started my journey as banquet waiter at our beautiful Al Ghazal and Al Noor Ballrooms. I was promoted to Hotel Butler in 1997, when the hotel first introduced butler service for all the guests in the hotel, I remember the service was unique and a first for the Middle East.

When Villas were introduced, I got the chance to implement the butler service there.” He said during his tenure, he had the opportunity to meet many world leaders, which was a dream come true. “It was a kind of real dream, you are in front of the person who you only see on TV and I am at his/her service.”

Thomas went on to win the best employee award and was given the opportunity to run the Club Level as Supervisor.

“Guests come to the property for a reason and if I can convert that to a lasting memory, means I made the day.

I do have challenges, for example, if a family always comes to celebrate all special occasions with us, then I have to dig my brain to find new ways to craft unparalleled memorable experiences.
