RIYADH —
The 5th Keli Inter-School Football Tournament for Safa Makkah Cup opened here at Nadi Al-Riyadh Stadium recently.
In the inaugural match, International Indian Public School (IIPS) scored a solitary goal win over a fighting Al-Yasmin International School. Muhammed Shah scored for IIPS in the seventh minute of the match.
In the second match, International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) prevailed over Al-Aliya International School Riyadh 3-0. Sheikh Faizan struck twice and Ayman Anjad completed the tally in the 17th minute. Hassan Tirur, Riyas, Bibin and Abdul Samad were the match officials.
The inter-school matches are played alongside the 9th Keli Football Tournament. The event is co-sponsored by Knowledge Tower. Six International Indian schools are participating in this tournament. The tournament is formatted on a league-cum-knockout basis. Matches will continue every Friday and the final is on Nov. 9.
