JEDDAH —
At least 10 regions of the Kingdom are expected to be affected by inclement weather conditions which may continue till Thursday.

Moderate to heavy thundershowers accompanied by hailstorms are expected in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah and Madinah regions, according to weather forecast by the General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP).

Inclement weather conditions will also affect Al-Qassim and Riyadh regions.

Thundershowers preceded by dust storms, causing low visibility, are expected in the Eastern Province, Wadi A-Dawasir and Hail region.

Heavy to moderate rain in Riyadh region started on Saturday night and continued on Sunday.

The Directorate of Civil Defense has sent alerts via text messages in Arabic and English warning of heavy rains in various parts of the Kingdom from Sunday till Thursday.

Southerly to southwesterly surface winds are expected over the Red Sea with a speed range of 15–40 kph in the central and southern parts.

During the night, the winds will change to southeasterly, northerly and northeasterly in the northern parts of the Red Sea with speeds ranging between 18 and 42 kph, GAMEP added.

The temperature also dropped in some parts of the Kingdom.

Makkah registered the highest temperature in the Kingdom with 36 degrees Celsius. Riyadh registered the lowest with 25 degrees Celsius. Madinah registered 28 degrees Celsius, Dammam 27, Al-Ahsa 26 and Jeddah 34.
