Riyadh —
Madame Tussauds museum, theatrical productions like The Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King, popular competition show “Takeshi’s Castle”, singing show “The Voice”, NBA basketball game and a Spanish-style running of the bulls.

These are but a few listings on the entertainment calendar of the Kingdom for this year.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Sheikh launched on Tuesday evening Saudi Arabia’s new vision to become among the top four entertainment destinations in Asia and among the top 10 globally.

Restaurants and cafes can get entertainment licenses to host music and comedy shows.

“Our doors are open,” Al-Alshikh said.

“This is a big door for tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of jobs and for tens of billions if not hundreds of billions” of riyals, he added.

Saudis and expats welcomed the announcements, saying that they are looking forward to these world-class events and shows.

Many Saudis said that they won’t have to travel abroad since great entertainment activities are coming to their doorsteps.
