Saudi leadership expresses condolences to New Zealand governor-general over mosque attacks

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman sent a cable of condolences to the governor-general of New Zealand after dozens of people were killed and injured in two terrorist attacks, targeting two different mosques in the city of Christchurch.

In his cable, the King denounced the attacks and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the governor-general, the families of the victims and the friendly people of New Zealand on his behalf and on behalf of the people and government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the cable, the King reasserted Kingdom’s support to New Zealand in the face of terrorist attacks and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, sent a similar cable of condolences to Governor-Genetal of New Zealand Dame Patsy Reddy. — SPA
