Children excel in Islamic quiz event at Saudia City

JEDDAH —
A large number of children attended the annual Islamic Quiz competition for boys and girls held at the Saudia City compound here recently.

The contest, conducted in the compound masjid, was open to all children from KG to intermediate or senior secondary level. The quiz was divided in three groups based on the grades of the children. More than 75 participating children showed keen interest and good level of knowledge. Though all the children performed well, excelling ones were adjudged winners by the jury.

In Group A, Ahmed Abdul Haleem from boy’s section and Maryam Ahsan Khan from girl’s section won the first prize. In Group B, Ahmad Tariq and Elshafy were the winners. In Group C, Ahmad Hadi and Jumana Ata ur Rahman were adjudged winners.

The winning children were awarded plaques, gifts and certificates. The certificates were awarded by SARED (Saudi Airlines Real Estate Development Company) and Maulana Hifzur Rahman Seoharvi Academy.

Roman M Tarabzony. GM Property Management SARED and Behjat Ayub Najmi, chief of the Maulana Hifzur Rahman Seoharvi Academy distributed plaques and other prizes to winning children. All children who participated in Group C (Grade 4 and below) were given gift bags.

According to Arshad A. Javed, chief organizer of the event, the quiz questions were so prepared as to disseminate the message of the Qur’an. Besides questions covered an all-round understanding of Islam, beliefs and practices.

The event was sponsored by Behjat Nami, Mohammed Rafi, Arshad Ali, Shaukat Fattani, Shams, Masroor Hassan, Atique, Yawar Sarfaraz, Syed Bukhari, Kashif Siddiqui, Imran Asad, Zeeshan Ali, Nabeel and Azhar Zai. The quiz program was moderated by Imran Asad, Kashif Siddiqui, Fiaz Ahmad and Atique. Mohammed Rafi and Syed Bukhari had provided overall supervision of the quiz event.

Mohammad Rafi proposed a vote of thanks to Roman M Tarabzony and Behjat Ayub Najmi for gracing the event every year and encouraging the children.

Parents of the participating children and other guests commended the program. According to them such contests inspire children to gain knowledge of Islam and Qur’an. In order to succeed in the quiz competition, children undertake extensive research on Islamic studies and thus get to know more about Islam.
