MAKKAH —
Qasim Addawi, the Saudi scholarship student in the US who drowned in the Niagara Falls was laid to rest on Friday at the Haram Martyrs Graveyard in Al-Sharaie to the east of the holy city.

Large crowds of mourners attended the burial after the funeral prayers were offered for him in the Grand Mosque after Asr prayer.

Addawi took his wife and three kids for a picnic at Niagara. When they were preparing to leave, he got out of the car to take the last photo of the tourist place but never came back.

The family waited for a long time in the car but when he did not show up, the wife told his brother and friends.

An eyewitness said he saw him falling down in the water.

Few days later his body was found at the Canadian side of the waterfall.

The Saudi consulate in Washington arranged for the transportation of the body to the Kingdom to be buried in Makkah according to his will.
