CCHI implements health insurance policies for Umrah pilgrims

RIYADH — The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) has started implementing health insurance policies for those coming to the Kingdom to perform Umrah and multipurpose visit, like tourism, work and visiting relatives.

The CCHI spokesman Yasser Al-Maarik said: “This step is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which includes raising the standard of health services for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques since the moment of their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure after performing Umrah rites. The health insurance policy allows providing emergency healthcare services with a benefit ceiling of SR100,000 per Umrah pilgrim.”

Al-Maarik further said: “The insurance policies for Umrah pilgrims were prepared in cooperation with the “Guests of Allah Program” and via qualified health insurance companies. The Council has coordinated with the authorized healthcare service providers with the aim of stressing on providing healthcare services to Umrah pilgrims, according to the benefits specified in the health insurance policy meant for Umrah pilgrims and to submit the claims to the insurance companies, according to the procedures followed in line with the regulations.”

Al-Maarik added: “The Council provides inquiry services on the campaign on health insurance policies for those coming to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah or visit via the special e-portal meant for this: www.cchi.gov.sa.”

He added, they could get acquainted with the insurance information using the Frontier (Border) Number meant for the visitor. In addition, the Council provides a package of communication channels in order to communicate (interact?) with the Secretariat General.
