By Hammad Saeed MADINAH — SCC T20 Champions league, organized by Madinah Cricket League (MCL) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC), kicked off here recently. ASDAF Tigers elected to bat first against SA Komboh XI in the first match of the tournament. Naeem Wajhi played a rocking innings of 171 runs off just 70 balls. Waqas supported him with 56. Bilal added 19 not out. Shakeel and Abdul Ghaffar took 1 wicket each. SA Komboh XI while chasing managed only 135. Abdul Ghaffar made 54 and Rashid supported him with 24. Mansoor grabbed 4 wickets, while Adnan took 3 wickets. In the second match, Pak United, batting first against PRCC, made a big total of 270. Farrukh and Bilal hit unbeaten centuries. Khurram grabbed 1 wicket. In reply, PRCC started well as Khurram Shahzad blasted an unbeaten 124 from just 53 balls. But no other batsmen could give him good support and PRCC managed 187. Abbas Nadwi took 2 wickets and Ali grabbed 1. In the third match, Sahiwal won the toss and elected to bat first. Sahiwal was off to a good start as Faheem (59) and Zaher (36) and Kashif (52 not out) made sure that their team reached a decent total of 211-4. Kashif took 2 wickets. In reply, Awali King played some good shots with its openers Sajid and Bilal scoring 16 and 20, respectively. Sadiq hit 65 and Khaled made 31 but couldn’t take their team past the line against the likes of Arslan (3 wickets), Faheem (1) and Kashif (1). Sahiwal won the match by 35 runs. In the fourth match, Youngstars, batting first, made a huge total of 243 against Madinah Strikers. Abdullah made 73, Ali 41 and Mohsin 33. Ishtiyak took 3 wickets, while Moin and Mujeeb got 2 each. Madinah Strikers while chasing managed 167. Sohail Khan hit 35, Mohammed Sameer 30 and Irfan 20. Tahir and Bilal took 3 wickets each and Ali Hadi 2. Youngstars won by 75 runs. The fifth match was between Madinah Eagles and U-19. Madinah Eagles, batting first, made 219 through Nouman (83), Bilal (78) and Haider (22). Taha, Mohsin and Adil took 1 wicket each. U-19, in reply, collapsed to 124. Mohsin made 45 and Taha 16. Nouman took 2 wickets. MBC Star made 146 in 18 overs against Evergreen in the last match. Nazim cracked 38 and Zubair 19. Khadim took 3 wickets and Razak 2. Evergreen struggled in chasing this small total but Khadim made 29 and Hammad 17. However, Evergreen hit the target on the last ball of the match while losing 7 wickets. Abbas took 3 wickets and Zahid 2. — SG
