Tahir, Ali lift Youngstars over Pak United

MADINAH — Helped by a hat trick by Tahir and a quickfire 62 runs from 23 balls by Ali Hadi Youngstars defeated Pak United by 31 runs in the SCC T20 Champions League, organized by Madinah Cricket League and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC).
Younstars, batting first, started very well with Ali Hadi displaying some great cricketing shots all over the ground and making 62 off just 23 balls. Abdullah helped him with 22. Saleem posted 30 to help Younstars reach 209. Bilal, Asif and Khadim took 2 wickets each. In reply, Pak United opening pair collapsed but Muhammad Asif and Kashif showed some resistance by making 52 and 43, respectively. Pak United was bundled out for 178. Tahir recorded a hat trick and Mehmood took two wickets.
In another match, UCC openers fell for low scores but Imtiyaz Hadee played a sensible knock of 36 to reach a fighting total of 164 despite Safeer taking 4 wickets. In reply, Binladen XI batsmen didn’t get off to a good start except for Zafar who managed 26 runs.
Zakir and Imtiyaz took 3 wickets each.
Sahiwal won the toss and elected to bat first against Kambo. Tariq top scored with 33, backed by Zaheer (28). The team posted 173-8 with Shakeel taking 3 wickets. In reply, Kamboh was off to a steady start with Waheed scoring 41 with Saad (30) and steered their to victory on the final ball of the innings. Shakeel took 3 wickets and Fareed 2.
In another match, Al-Hateem won the toss and elected to bat first. Al-Hateem was off to a shaky start as its best batsman Mudassir fell early. However, Fida Ullah (47) and Arslan Mushtaq (41) made sure that their team reached a decent total (186-7). Khalid took 3 wickets. In reply, openers Bilal and Faisal scored 23 and 35, respectively but couldn’t take their team past the line against the likes of Zain, Waseem and Fidaullah who took 2 wickets each. Al-Hateen won the match by 17 runs.
U-19s won the toss and posted a very competitive total of 182. Their captain Abdullah scored a scintillating 61 alongside Taha (43). Junaid took 2 wickets. In reply, MCH Eagles put up a steady batting performance with Yousef scoring an unbeaten 62 and Zohaib 49 to reach the required target by 18th over. — SG
