JEDDAH — Light rainfall has been predicted for Makkah on Friday. Meteorologist at the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Khalid Al-Qassim said a cold wave that swept across the Kingdom has receded since Tuesday.

He added that the Huda cold wave is an extremely cold and windy polar wave that has reached -5 degrees Celsius.

He said: “It is considered a polar wave because it is coming from the North Pole to some Arab countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and the northern provinces of the Kingdom, especially the governorates of Tabuk, Arar, Turaif, Qurayyat and Hail.

He added that temperatures would rise three to four degrees Celsius in most areas of the Kingdom.

He also said the weather in Makkah would be stable but cold. “There are indications of light rainfall in Makkah on Friday. Jazan, however, might experience stormy weather with thunder and heavy winds.”
