CAIRO — Egyptian actress Hanan Turk has decided to end her professional career after nearly two decades of movie and television stardom, Egyptian weekly newspaper Al Youm Al Sabee reported.
“I’ve been thinking a lot and I reached a conclusion that appearing on screen with my veil stirs more temptations than appearing without it,” she said.
“That’s why I’ve decided to retire.” The 37-year-old former ballerina became the first Egyptian actress to wear hijab while acting at a young age few years ago.
Turk added that she will now have more time for more religious activities that she couldn’t find the time to pursue while acting. — Agencies
