Saudi Gazette report MADINAH — The Interior Ministry will take over the operation of the Saher traffic control system from Sunday. Using fixed and mobile cameras, the system automatically registers traffic violations including speeding, crossing the red traffic light and others. The system has so far been operated by three private companies. The sources were quoted by local daily Al-Madina that all the 4,000 employees of the three operating companies will be transferred to the ministry with the same salaries and fringe benefits. They said the employees will attend a meeting to be held soon with the officials of the Saudi Company for Comprehensive Security Control (SCCSC) of the Interior Ministry during which they will sign their new work contracts. The employees will also receive their termination letters from the three former operating companies. The SCCSC is the responsible for the ministry's distance communications and its technology sector. It has close ties of technological and commercial cooperation and coordination with renowned international companies. It is also maintaining partnerships with 12 ministries and government departments including the ministries of foreign affairs and transport, the Passport Department (Jawazat), the Civil Defense and others.
