JEDDAH — International Indian School (IIS) Dammam dominated the Silver Jubilee Cluster Meet of the CBSE-affiliated schools in the Kingdom, organized by International Indian School Jeddah here recently.

IISD underlined its supremacy in the final phase of the 25th Cluster Meet by sweeping the titles in athletics (boys) and table tennis. Amassing 191 points IISD boys claimed the athletics crown, while its boys and girls ruled in table tennis. Host’s girls, however, made IISJ proud by winning the overall athletics title, collecting 117 points.

IISJ Principal Syed Masood Ahmed welcomed the gathering during the awarding ceremony and praised all the participants for exhibiting true spirit of sportsmanship, team work and camaraderie.

Consul General of India B.S. Mubarak and Head of Chancery and Consul Education and the School Observer, Mohammad Raghib Qureshi, appreciated the efforts of organizers as well as participants.

IIS Riyadh Manager Mohammad Sirajuddin encouraged the participants to promote a greater love for sports that goes beyond rivalry and competition. Ghouse Mohiuddin, sports HOD of IISJ, was honored for his outstanding services as the head of the sports department and as the chief coordinator of five cluster meets hosted by IISJ during his service.

CBSE Observer Parvez Ahmed congratulated the students and appreciated the commendable work done by the teachers and team managers for making this event a grand success.

The final phase of the competitions were held in athletics and table tennis. They were conducted in three age groups — under 14, 16 and 19.
