DUBAI — The four-day Dubai International Motor Show, which is the largest motoring event held in the Emirate of Dubai, kicked off Tuesday (Nov. 10) in Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors under 12 years old can enter for free.
Several international companies exhibit their new car models. Among them is Ford which is showcasing several new cars such as the latest Ford F-150 and Ford GT.
Ford GT has grabbed the attention of the audience in the first day since it serving as a technology showcase for top EcoBoost performance, aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction. The production of this car will start late next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars winning first, second and third place at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Ford GT350 is another head turner. This car is distinguished and powered by a unique, high-revving flat-plane crankshaft 5.2-liter V8 engine, which produces 526 PS and 429 Nm of torque.
The Lincoln Continental Concept car is another crowd rower. It has the classical style and powered by a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6, a slightly enlarged variant of the 2.7 Nano.
Chevrolet also participates with several cars in the show and one of the unique cars that the company has in the show is the Gen Six Camaro. This car is driven by thee all-new 3.6L V-6 and the 6.2L V-8, which is SAE-certified at 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 455 lb-ft of torque (617 Nm) – by far the most powerful Camaro SS ever. Each engine is available with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
During the first day of the show, the Chief Marketing Officer of Global Cadillac Uwe Ellinghaus introduced the Cadillac XT5 to the public. This car has new V6 engine and advanced all-wheel drive.
Cadillac offers most of the improved interior space to the passengers. Rear-seat legroom is increased 8.1 cm in the XT5, compared to its predecessor. The rear seat both reclines and slides fore and aft, as well.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars also showcases several of its own. Coupé Tiger, Ghost Golf and Wraith where available on display. For the first time in the region Rolls-Royce Dawn, one of the super-luxury motoring cars, is currently available for public to see.
Eighty percent of the exterior body panels of this open-top, super-luxury motoring car is new when it comes to it design.
