JEDDAH — In a glittering launching ceremony, graced by Ahmeduddin Owaisi, president Bazm-E-Ittehad; Khalid Almaeena, editor at large, Saudi Gazette; Aziz Ahmed, joint editor, Etemaad Daily, Hyderabad; Ibrahim Al-Othaibi, director, JCA; Sameer Nidal Khan of Hala Cricket Academy and other guests, the Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi Cricket Cup was launched at Hala Cricket Academy here recently.
The ceremony was jointly organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) and Jeddah Premier League (JPL).
A grand guard of honor was given to the chief guest and the guests of honor by the 50 participating teams holding their placards displaying their team names and logos.
The organizing committee welcomed the chief guest and the guests of honor by presenting bouquets. They were also awarded with appreciation plaques for their participation and support. In his welcome address JCA President Aijaz Ahmed Khan said the tournament will herald a new era in cricket in the Kingdom. He thanked chief guest Ahmeduddin Owaisi for supporting and encouraging this tournament. He also extended the committee’s gratitude to the Hala Cricket Academy management, particularly Sameer Nidal Khan, for providing the venue for the launching ceremony.
He thanked the sponsors, represented by Mohammed Rafeeq of Mumtaz Group of Companies, Syed Sameer Ishaq of Dream India and Syed Moazam Ali of Al-Wafaq Al-Shaheqa Group.
Ahmeduddin Owaisi and Khaled Almaeena pledged their support to JCA and JPL and wished good luck to the teams and the organizers.
Earlier, the function began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Noor Sahab. Mirza Qudrath Nawaz Baig anchored the program.
