JEDDAH — Newly elected chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and vice chairman of Federation of Engineering Institution of Islamic Countries (FEIIC) Jawaid Salim Quraishi, said there’s a Pakistan outside Pakistan, and I hope a day will come when Pakistan will be according to the wish and dream of all Pakistanis. He was speaking at a reception organized by Engineers Welfare Forum (EWF) in his honor at Al- Hamra Pullman Hotel.
Quraishi was visiting Saudi Arabia to attend the 4th Federation of Engineering Institution of Islamic Countries (FEIIC) International Conference on Engineering Education & Research 2015 (FICEER2015) that was jointly organized by FEIIC, SCE, and MySET in Madinah.
He thanked the EWF team for organizing a great evening with engineering community. He assured them he will bring back the pride of engineers which was eroded during the 40-year rule of a strong group. Quraishi announced the he would open PEC overseas chapter in Saudi Arabia soon and facilities will be provided for online registration of overseas engineers. An Engineers Welfare Trust will also be established in Pakistan.
About PEC, he said, it is a regularity body of the chartered and professional engineers. It is the representative engineering community in the country, he said, adding PEC also asserts its role as a think tank to the government and undertakes its efforts to establish scientific standards for engineering innovations and services to the nation.
Earlier the function started with recitation of verses from theHoly Qur’an by Qari Mohammed Asif. Masroor Elahi, secretary general, conducted the event. He thanked Quraishi for meeting the members of engineers community in Jeddah.
Dr. Abdul Aleem Khan, President EWF congratulated Quraishi on winning the election. He briefed all about the development of EWF & JCCI Joint vocational training institute.
