JEDDAH — Pak Young, Al Burj and Sindh XI recorded wins in contrasting style against Jamoom Fighters (by 17 runs), Khulais (by 134 runs) and Kashmir XI (by 48 runs), respectively in the 10th week of the Kanoo Premier League matches.
The League is sponsored and supported by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group for the 22nd year and it is organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Pak Young beat Jamoom Fighters by 17 runs. Pak Young tallied 188-4 in 20 overs. Noor Alam (33 — 17 balls, 2 fours, 3 sixes) and Yousuf (43 — 26 balls, 9 fours) gave a good start which was later capitalized by Zakir (42 — 2 fours, 3 sixes) and Niaz (22) — both remained unbeaten. Umar, Adnan and Waseem picked up a wicket each. In reply, Jamoom Fighters fought till the end but eventually fell short by 17 runs as it ended up at 171-8 with Usman fighting a lone battle remaining unbeaten on 88 off 42 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. Fayyaz (2-28) Ismail (2-26) and Yousuf (2-17) bowled well.
Al-Burj beat Khulais XI by 134 runs. Al-Burj amassed 219-5 and then bundled out Khulais for 85. For Al-Burj Usman scored a quick 56 off 27 balls with 8 fours and a six. Kamran Khan remained unbeaten on 55 off 30 balls with 9 fours and a six. Abdul Wahab hit 33 not out. Nadir, Sajjad and Omar picked up one wicket each. For Khulais, Adil fought a lone battle scoring 30, while Siddique outsmarted them by taking 4-15, supported by Awais (2-25).
Sindh X1 beat Kashmir X1 by 48 runs. Sindh XI scored 198-6 with Sulaiman scoring an aggressive 54 off 27 balls with 8 fours, 1 six. Shakeel pitched in with 36 off 19 balls with 6 fours. Mohsin made 20 and Humayun 24. Owais took 3-31 Abid, while Bilal and Arif took a wicket apiece. In reply, Kashmir XI started confidently but could manage only 150 through Sami (28), Abid (42) and Owais (35). Ashiq (3-27), Mohsin (2-30) and Shakeel (2-32) excelled to give Sindh XI a comfortable 48-run win.
