Logistics, Machinery and P&IP win in Kanoo cricket

JEDDAH — Logistics raced to its 5th win, while P&IP and Machinery recorded their second consecutive wins in the Kanoo Inter-Division Six-a-side League here. The league is being sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group for the 19th year and co-sponsored by Maersk Sealand and AXA Insurance for its employees. Maersk vs. P&IP Maersk Lions elected to bat first, but lost its openers cheaply to Bashir and Najab of P&IP. Ashfaq’s unbeaten 31 took Maersk Lions to a decent total of 48. P&IP showed no mercy and raced to 49 with Razi Momin (16) and Liaqat (22) hitting well-paced knocks. Man of the Match — Liaqat Khan. BDP vs. Travels BDP took the strike first with Oliver (28) and Hameen (10) helping it set a target of 62 in 5 overs. Vasvi picked up a wicket and an excellent catch. Travels was home comfortably with Mubeen making 28 despite good bowling by Fahim and Hameen. Man of the Match – Mubeen. Logistics vs. P&IP Logistics posted 74 thanks to Siras (17), Inshaf (30) and Wahid Khan (12). Bashir and Liaquat took a wicket each. The early fall of wickets restricted P&IP in its chase and despite Liaqat’s unbeaten 25 and Bashir’s 12 and Irfan 13 not out P&IP was limited to 70. Man of the Match – Zahir Joharan. Logistics vs. Travels Logistics with some lusty hitting by Zahir (20), Siras (24), Wahid (30 not out) and Inshaf (13 not out) fell one short of 100 in 5 overs. Yasas and Zubair took one wicket each. In reply, Travels was bundled out for 51 thanks to Siras (3 wickets) and Zahir (2) and brilliant fielding by Imran Sheradi, taking an important catch at a crucial juncture to dismiss Sunith. Man of the Match – Imran Sheradi. Machinery vs. Travels Machinery managed 48 as Yasas and Sunith picked up 2 and 1 wicket, respectively. Travels was bundled out for 39 as Vathsan (3 for 20) with support from Suresh and Imran (a wicket each) handed Machinery a 9-run exciting win. Man of the match — Vathsan. P&IP vs. Finance Finance won the toss and elected to field. Abdul Basheer Assadi thrashed a superb 82 with 8 sixes and 3 fours with support from Irfan (15) putting on 122 on the board in 5 overs. It is the highest total in the league so far. Finance could manage only 39 as P&IP registered its second win. Man of the Match – Abdul Basheer Assadi. BDP vs. P&IP BDP scored 59 with openers Fahim (12) and Oliver (13) in fine nick. Irfan (3 wickets) and Bashir (1) were among the wickets. P&IP fought well but was stalled due to fine bowling by Fahim (2 wickets) and Shyam (1). With 21 required in the last over, Irshad bowled a tight line giving away 6 runs and taking his team to a well-deserved 14-run win. Man of the Match – Fahim Dawood. Machinery vs. BDP Vatshan (21), Indika (23) and Fahim (17) enabled Machinery to post 79. Fahim and Hameem took a wicket each. BDP was bundled out for 45 with Oliver (17) fighting a lone battle.
