Wardah Abdul Raziq AL-AHSA —  “This is me but my son has gone astray,” Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, father of the suicide bomber who blew himself up at Imam Rida mosque in Al-Ahsa region, said to the families of the martyrs in a handwritten letter of condolences. Four worshipers were killed and 37 others including three security men were injured in the attack carried out by 22-year-old Abdulrahman Al-Tuwaijri. A second culprit, who was unable to detonate himself, was identified as an Egyptian, named Talha Hisham Mohammed Abda. Al-Tuwaijri’s father came all the way from Qassim to Al-Ahsa to personally offer his condolences to the families of the dead. The four martyrs were identified as Hussein Al-Badr, Maher Al-Abdullah, Fouad Al-Momten and his son Mohammed. The father prayed for the martyrs seeking forgiveness for them. He said nobody will ever be able to tear the Saudi social fabric. The families of the martyrs appreciated his gesture and thanked him for his noble initiative. Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri was accompanied by a number of men from Qassim who insisted on accompanying him on his noble mission. He said he and his family condemn these terrorist acts which are against Islam and humanity. “I completely denounce my son’s terrorist acts. I disown anyone who may dare to spill the blood of his own people,” he said. Meanwhile, imam of the mosque Nasser Al-Yasin said the mosque has been reopened and that Friday prayers will be held as usual.
