Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — The joy of WhatsApp voice call users may prove to be short-lived as authorities are planning to reimpose the ban which was lifted on Saturday. Measures are under way to ban the service again, sources told Al-Watan Arabic daily on Sunday. WhatsApp Inc. did not reply directly to a question by Al-Watan daily on the reasons for lifting the ban on its voice call service from 1.00 a.m. Saturday. The company replied with a message saying that the service is banned in some countries due to local telecom laws. The Communications and Information Technology Commission imposed a ban on WhatsApp call service on March 15, 2015.
