RIYADH — An explosion damaged a car in Riyadh Monday, the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting a police spokesman. According to the spokesman, a Saudi citizen had reported that his car had been damaged by a blast at around 8.40 a.m. while parked in front of his house in the capital city’s Al-Aziziah district. There were no injuries. The glasses of some nearby vehicles were also broken. Security agencies have launched an investigation into the incident, the spokesman said.
Drug trafficking attempt foiled: Coast Guard patrol teams intercepted a boat carrying huge quantity of drugs off the Red Sea coast in Al-Wajh region in the northern Tabuk province. Four Egyptians on board and two Saudis were arrested in connection with the drug trafficking.
The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, 10 nautical miles from the coast. When the patrol boats chased and intercepted it, those on the boat set on fire a number of bags on board and that resulted in its sinking. The patrol teams managed to neb all the suspects. The Egyptians were smuggling in two million pills of amphetamine, and efforts are underway to retrieve the remaining drugs, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
