MAKKAH — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the second annual women’s career fair here on Sunday offering instant recruitment for 600 job positions.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry General Secretary Abdullah Al-Sharif said more than 2,000 women attended the career fair.
“The chamber aims to offer jobs to all qualified Saudis. The fair included companies and establishments looking for women from various disciplines, expertise and backgrounds,” said Al-Sharif.
He also said the fair included companies and establishments from both the private and public sectors.
“There are companies who offered jobs without any previous experience. There were also jobs that only require a primary school degree. The event was crowded and the turnout was greatly a positive one,” said Al-Sharif.
He also said the chamber aims to combat unemployment by offering training workshops and holding events such as the career fair.
“The fair offered immediate recruitment for 600 job positions. The organizing team of the fair knocked on the doors of many companies asking for the jobs they have to offer and were looking for immediate placements,” said Al-Sharif.
He also said the fair was supported by Saudization Committee in Makkah Governorate, Human Resources Development Fund Hadaf, Taqat, the Vocational Interviews Committee, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Bab Rizq Jameel.
“The jobs offered start with a salary of SR3,500 and go up to SR5,000. The companies received a total of 2,000 applicants. The companies will immediately review the CVs and set an interview to start the recruitment process,” said Al-Sharif.
He also said the jobs offered were in commerce, tourism, hotel management, marketing, health sectors, distant employment, services and telecommunication.
