JEDDAH — The Ministry of Haj gave a Hijazi (western Saudi Arabian) reception to Umrah pilgrims arriving at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, a section of the Arabic press reported on Tuesday.
“The ministry wanted to show pilgrims that the Kingdom is happy to welcome the guests of the House of Allah,” Director of the Ministry of Haj in Jeddah Abdullah Murghulani was quoted as saying by Makkah Arabic daily.
Representatives of Umrah companies were also present at the airport to help pilgrims.
“Our reception program is divided into two stages. The first stage is the arrival at the airport. We offer pilgrims food, traditional confectioneries, Arabic coffee and Zamzam water. The second stage involves transportation to Makkah and Madinah,” said Murghulani.
“It is our duty to serve pilgrims and satisfy them during their short stay,” he said, adding that the ministry spends the entire year planning for the Haj and Umrah season.
“The ministry evaluates its plans at the end of every Haj and Umrah season to make improvements. The ministry also studies the complaints and suggestions proposed by pilgrims and service providers,” said Murghulani.
