Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH - Statements by the director general of the investigative police, Gen. Abdulaziz Al-Huwairini that a terrorist operation in Janadriyah was foiled were misunderstood and taken out of context, a high-level security source said. Janadriyah is a Riyadh suburb which is currently hosting the 30th National Festival of Culture and Heritage. The source denied that the director general had said some terrorists, who were living in Al-Rimal neighborhood, were arrested for potting to carry out a terrorist operation. "The director literally said some suspects, who were living in Al-Rimal district near Janadriyah, were busted and it was feared that they might be plotting to carry out a terrorist operation in Janadriyah or some other place," the source said. According to the source, there were no solid evidence that the suspects were actually plotting to carry out a terrorist act but it was only feared that they might be considering to do so. Huwairini was talking Tuesday at a symposium on "Security and Information" which was organized by Prince Naif College for National Security. He said the symposium was being held at a time the world was witnessing a remarkable rise in terrorist actions and threats. "These actions are aimed at undermining our security and stability and they are particularly targeting our youth who are our source of strength," he said. Huwairini asked the journalists not to film the security campaigns, reveal their locations or publish them on the asocial media tools. He also asked them focus on the value of the information and its impact on the national security rather than to look for scopes and journalistic suspense. "We should work together to stand against the ferocious media campaigns against our country," he told them. The director said the Kingdom last year witnessed 30 terrorist operations at the rate of one operation every 12 days.
