JEDDAH — Brilliant all-round performances were the rule of the day during the 8th week of action in the Asaduddin Owaisi Cup here recently.
Dream India Group, Mumtaz Sports Academy, Al-Wafaq Al-Shaheqa Group and Qatar Airways Jeddah are jointly sponsoring the tournament. Among the co-sponsors are: B-Cola, Halwani Brothers and Khind Electronics. Jeddah Premier League (JPL) is organizing the event under the umbrella of Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Challengers Cricket Club, batting first, made 153-9 in 15 overs. In reply, Al-Amri was restricted to 124-8 in 15 overs. Challengers CC won the match by 29 runs. Haris was awarded the Man of the Match for his 36 runs and 3 wickets.
Khind posted 121-4 in 15 overs. In reply, ICC was bundled out for 112 in 14.4 overs, handing Khind a 9-run win. Sameer was named the Man of the Match for his 33 runs and 1 wicket.
Jeddah Gladiators put on 87 in 12.3 overs and then limited Jeddah Jaguars to 80-9 in 15 overs. Owais was declared the Man of the Match for 3 wickets. Halwani Brothers, batting first, scored 132-8 in 15 overs. In reply, Warangal CC reached 138-6 in 12.2 overs to win the match by 4 wickets. Irfan was awarded the Man of the Match for his 38 runs off 12 balls.
In the afternoon session, Azizia Deccan Avengers scored 130 in 15 overs and then bowled Azizia Deccan out for 99 in 13.1 overs. Aamer was the Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets.
Friends Cricket Team, taking the strike first, made 106-4 in 15 overs. In reply, Salama Falcon could score only 105, thereby handing Friends Cricket Team a nail-biting 1-run win. Salam was adjudged the Man of the Match for 38 runs and 2 wickets.
Arabian XI made 71 in 13.3 overs. In reply, Nazar Guys scored 76-2 in 9.4 overs to win the match by 8 wickets. Hafeez was named the Man of the Match for claiming 3 wickets.
KSA Blue, batting first, was sent packing for 79 in 13.3 overs. In reply, Jeddah Warriors Club scored 84 in 5 overs to record a 10-wicket win. Asif clinched the Man of the Match honors for 22 runs and 4 wickets.
