RIYADH — Six persons died and six were injured in two road accidents in Al-Dawadmi and Rimah Governorate. Riyadh Red Crescent spokesman, Abdullah Al-Miraibidh, said the organization received reports of a road accident involving a vehicle that had toppled over. The paramedics reported that three people were killed in the accident, while another two sustained severe injuries. The Red Crescent also received reports of a road accident in which a vehicle containing a family collided with another on Al-Bajadiyah-Al-Dawadmi road. According to paramedics three persons died in the accident while another four sustained severe and critical injuries.
Gang targets homosexuals
JEDDAH — A gang on social media lured several homosexual men by promising them sexual favors and then stealing their belongings. Jeddah Police said they received two reports of theft by citizens who did not go into details of how they were robbed but only said what had been taken from them. The first man said he dropped someone off at a deserted location they agreed on before he was assaulted by three others who were waiting for his arrival.
He said the gang stole SR1,000 and his cellphone and then raped him. The second person said he was lured by a gang who stole SR32,000 and his cellphone and then raped him. The men said that they met the person promising them sexual favors on social media and that he went by an obscene pseudonym. Police tracked down the gang members and arrested all four of them. The victims identified the criminals and the case has been forwarded to the pertinent authority.
Murderer executed
RIYADH — A Saudi man was executed for murder on Sunday. The Ministry of Interior reported the Saudi man, Hudyan Al-Qahtani, shot and killed his compatriot, Abdullah Al-Qyoud, after a fight. The General Court sentenced Al-Qahtani to death and the Court of Appeal approved the sentence.
Missing man found dead
RIYADH — The police found the body of a man who was reported missing for a week in Al-Sulayyil Governorate. Police reported the Saudi man, Abdullah Abdulhadi, went missing a week ago after he was last seen getting into his car after work, but never arrived home. The police and several local volunteers and family members formed a search party and eventually found the victim’s body in Al-Hissy desert.
Expat stabs cousin to
death on wedding day
MAKKAH — An Arab expatriate allegedly stabbed his cousin to death on his wedding day in Turbah Governorate. Makkah Police spokesman, Col. Ati Al-Qurashi, said the victim was in his 40s and died after his cousin stabbed him in his stomach. The victim’s body was taken to the morgue and the police arrested the suspect. The case is being further investigated.
