MADINAH —Madinah Cricket Association has decided to conduct its next tournament under the title Saudi Premier League (SPL).
Sixteen affiliated teams attended the general body meeting, which was chaired by Syed Zahid Ali, president of MCA. General Secretary Iftikhar, members of core committee Khuwaja Zubair, Mohammed Asif, Fayyaz Chauhan and Omer, team captains and managers also graced the meeting.
The proceedings of the meeting started after the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Iftikhar gave the details of the new tournament which will see 14 of the 16 affiliated teams in action.
My Care Hala is the main sponsor and the tourney will be supported by other cosponsors. This event will be conducted in coordination with Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
The SPL winner and runner-up teams will be awarded trophies, medals and cash prizes. Attractive prizes are at stake for individual performers. Fifteen members of each team will be provided with T-shirts and caps bearing the logo of the sponsors. Umpires and MCA officials will also wear the same kit.
A colorful launching ceremony is planned by the sponsor My Care Hala. Dignitaries and cricket lovers of Madinah are expected to attend the ceremony. MCA president thanked the My Care Hala management and the Jeddah Cricket Association for their support.
