JEDDAH – Strong southerly winds kicking dusts are expected in the northern and northeastern provinces of Tabuk, Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Hail and Al-Qassim as of Sunday, the Presidency of Meteorology and the Environment (PME) said in a weather bulletin carried by the Saudi Press Agency late Saturday.
Temperature in the northern parts of the Kingdom is likely to drop beginning Monday, it said.
The active winds will continue on Monday over the provinces of Riyadh, Al-Qassim, Eastern Province and the eastern parts of Makkah province. This will further extend to the eastern parts of Asir and Najran provinces.
There are chances of moderate rainfall on Monday and Tuesday especially in the eastern parts of Makkah province and parts of Asir and Najran provinces, as well as Al-Quwayiyah, Al-Dawadmi, Wadi Al-Dawasir and Al-Kharj in Riyadh province and Dammam, Jubail and Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province.
The rain is likely to continue until Wednesday in Najran, southern Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
The PME urged the public to take precautions against the hazards of turbulent weather. They should also follow the weather bulletins, reports and warnings issued by the presidency, it said.
