DRIVING the recent success of Infiniti’s premium model line-up is the Q50, updated comprehensively for 2016 and revealed to European audiences for the first time at the 86th Geneva International Motor Show.

The Q50 sports sedan has played a critical role in the brand’s sustained global growth. Here in the Middle East, this success continues to be reflected with sales for the compact executive sedan in 2015 increasing by 110% delivering almost 1,900 vehicles to customers.

Available in the third quarter of 2016 in the Middle East, a selection of technology and performance upgrades to the Infiniti Q50 will boost the car’s appeal in the sports sedan segment, notably with its next-generation ride and handling technologies, engineered to empower drivers with fully customizable driving characteristics.

The Infiniti Q50 will be equipped with Infiniti’s all-new engine; the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo from the new and exclusive ‘VR’ powertrain family. The all-new engine has been developed to deliver optimal power and torque for an engine of its size, together with optimized fuel efficiency. Rounding off the offering will be Infiniti’s successful 2.0 liter turbo delivering 208 HP and 350 Nm.

The high-output version of the power unit delivers 400hp (298kW) at 6400 rpm and 475Nm (350lb-ft) maximum torque at 1600-5200 rpm; while the 300hp (224kW) version (at 6400 rpm) produces 400Nm (295lb-ft) torque at 1600-5200 rpm.

These outputs have been achieved while ensuring an improvement in fuel efficiency of up to 6.7% and this represents a best-in-class power-to-efficiency ratio for the 400hp power unit. As well as the powerful all-new V6 engine found in the Q60 sports coupe, making its debut in the Q50 is the company’s second-generation Direct Adaptive Steering and Infiniti’s new Dynamic Digital Suspension, offering full ride and handling customization, high ride comfort and class-leading handling agility.
