JEDDAH — Professor Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Gondal at Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of the Punjab expressed his happiness and said I am pleased to see the gathering of the members of Pakistani community from various political, social, welfare, academic, literary, cultural and other organizations on a common platform.
Addressing the function organized by Pakistan National Solidarity Forum (PNSF) to mark the 76th Pakistan National Day, he said he was happy to see people with utter national spirit and zeal.
Ishtiaq added: “I wish for the same spirit of solidarity and unity among the people in Pakistan that would make our country stronger, achieve sustainable economic growth as well as greater political stability, wiping out terrorism and extremism from the country.”
He also shed light on the historic Lahore resolution passed on March 23, 1940, demanding a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. He appreciated Riaz Bukhari’s efforts in the formation of PNSF and prayed for the integrity and solidarity of the country.
Hafiz Tahir, general secretary Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (F) Saudi Arabia, said we have made enormous sacrifices to have our own country. Unfortunately we have not taken good care it so far but there is hope that one day we will spend our resources in the right direction.
Professor Asif said we have accomplished Pakistan. Now it our duty to make Pakistan a true tolerant Islamic social welfare state.
Dr. Abdul Aleem Khan, president Engineers Welfare Forum (EWF), said: “Allah blessed us with such a wonderful piece of land and people with such a varied and vibrant culture. If we unite under the domination of solidarity we will be able to remove all mess fromour beloved homeland.”
Chief organizer PNSF Syed Riaz Hussain Bukhari conducted the event and welcomed all guests, poets, speakers and media representatives. He thanked Jamaat-e-Islami for sponsoring the event and lauded the participation of representatives of organizations from whom the PNSF was derived.
Mohsin Alvi presented national poem and student Ahmed Zubair sang a national song.
