JEDDAH — Host ICD (Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector) scored a convincing 7-1 win over ICIEC (Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit) in the opening match of the ICD 3rd Annual Football Tournament at the IDB headquarters in Jeddah Thursday.
Two matches were played on the opening day of the tournament, celebrating the 41st annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group.
ICD officials and other dignitaries representing international organizations attended the match.
Eight teams, divided into two groups, are taking part in the tournament. The final is set for April 28.
ICD and ICIEC are grouped with Islamic Relief and Anfaal Capital in Group A. Group B comprises KAUST (King Abdullah University Science and Technology), Islamic Research and Training Institute, Ewaan Global Residential Company (Ewaan) and Islamic Development Bank (IDB). — SG
