JEDDAH — Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) held a special meeting at the residence of its convener Syed Ehsanul Haque in honor of renowned Saudi scholar, writer and ex-diplomat Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi for his constant support to the cause of Pakistan including Kashmir and stranded Pakistanis.
Haque, in referring to Al-Ghamdi’s courageous support in raising the issues of forgotten patriotic Pakistanis living in miserable condition in Bangladesh and highlighting plight of Kashmiris, said Dr. Al-Ghamdi is a true Muslim and God-fearing to boldly raise issues faced by humanity including the plight of Palestinians under Israel brutality, Rohingya Muslims under brutal Myanmar regime, and hanging of veteran Muslims in Bangladesh without fair trial.
Due to his stay in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh during his study and diplomatic career during the 80s he has closely observed the governments and the social affairs of the subcontinent and played his role in not only highlighting the weaknesses but also submitting his suggestions to improve as per Islamic perspective, Haque added.
He also updated all on his meeting with senate head Raja Zafrul Haque in presence of Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef on Dec. 19 2015 in which another memorandum was submitted on the issue and he promised that he will submit the reminder to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and expected his attention on solving the issue.
He also condemned act of arson last week in a camp in Dhaka in which dozens of inmates got injured following a move by government officials in trying to vacate the camps.
Hamid Islam Khan, deputy convener, also extended his felicitation to Dr. Ghamdi for his full support to the plight of stranded Pakistanis.
Dr. Irfan Hashmi, senior vice president who is leaving the Kingdom shortly, praised Dr. Ghamdi’s contribution for the cause of stranded Pakistanis, adding he always sided with PRC in its cause. He also praised his thoughtful articles on Dr. Allama Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
Leading community members including Aziz Ahmed, Shamsuddin Altaf, Syed Qamar Shah, Ghazanfar Hassan, Altaf Ahmed, Syed Naseeruddin, Mohammad Akram Agha, Zamurrad Khan Saifi, Mohammad Amanatullah, Naushad Usman also spoke highly about Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi.
Qari Abdul Majeed prayed for best of health and success in life and hereafter for Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef, Khaled Almaeena, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi and Dr. Francis Lamand.
