Causeway Customs foil attempt to smuggle child

RIYADH – Customs officers at King Fahd Causeway foiled an attempt to illegally transport a child into Saudi Arabia from Bahrain, it was reported on Sunday. Acting Director General of Causeway Customs Dhaifullah Al-Otaibi said a child was found hiding in a vehicle with a private number plate. When questioned, the driver said the child was his son but could not prove his claim. Three liquor bottles were also found in the vehicle, Al-Otaibi said. An investigation was launched immediately, he added. — SG/SPA
