NEW YORK — Curt Casali hit a three-run homer, Steve Pearce and Tim Beckham hit two-run shots, Desmond Jennings hit a solo blast as Tampa Bay thrashed Toronto 13-2 Monday. Jennings, Casali and Pearce each had three RBIs, and Steven Souza Jr. had three hits and one RBI for the Rays, who handed the Blue Jays their third straight loss in the opener of a three-game series. Toronto left-hander J.A. Happ (5-1) allowed seven hits, one walk and eight runs in two-plus innings. Marlins 5, Phillies 3: Adeiny Hechavarria had three hits, and Marcell Ozuna and Justin Bour homered as the Miami Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 Monday for their third consecutive victory. Martin Prado and Christian Yelich each had two hits and an RBI for Miami, and every Marlins starting position player reached base at least once. Tigers 10, Twins 8: Nick Castellanos hit a go-ahead home run in the seventh as Detroit squandered an eight-run lead and then outlasted Minnesota at Comerica Park. Castellanos had two hits and drove in two runs for the Tigers, who have won two straight after losing 11 of 12. Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was ejected for arguing balls and strikes after the fourth inning by home plate umpire Doug Eddings. Ausmus pulled off his sweatshirt and placed it over home plate before leaving the field. Pirates 8, Braves 5: Matt Joyce had a home run among his three hits and drove in three runs, Gregory Polanco had three hits and three runs scored and Jon Niese pitched six effective innings to lead Pittsburgh to a win over Atlanta. Joyce stepped into the starting lineup and played right field as left fielder Starling Marte was placed on the paternity list before the game after his wife gave birth to a daughter in the morning. Polanco moved from right field to left to take Marte’s spot. Indians 15, Reds 6: Home runs by Yan Gomes and Marlon Byrd in a five-run sixth inning rally helped power Cleveland to a win over Cincinnati at Progressive Field. Trailing 4-0 after the top of the third, Cleveland scored 15 runs over the next six innings, unleashing a 19-hit assault on four Cincinnati pitchers. Diamondbacks 12, Yankees 2: Jake Lamb had three hits, including a homer, and Paul Goldschmidt homered when Arizona broke a five-game losing streak with a victory over New York at Chase Field. Lamb’s three-run homer, his fifth homer of the season, broke a tie at 2 off right-hander Chad Green (0-1), who was making his major league debut. Lamb was a triple short of the cycle. Athletics 3, Rangers 1: Rookie left-hander Sean Manaea gave up one run over 6-2/3 innings for his first major league victory, Marcus Semien hit his 10th home run of the season, and Oakland defeated Texas at the Oakland Coliseum. Angels 7, Dodgers 6: Mike Trout and Albert Pujols combined to go 5-for-8 with five RBIs as the Los Angeles Angels topped the Los Angeles Dodgers to earn their fourth consecutive win. The Red Sox-Royals game at Kauffman Stadium was rained out and will be made up as a day-night doubleheader Wednesday.
