RIYADH – Riyadh Emir Prince Faisal Bin Bandar held talks with Sheikh Rafik Mohammed, chairman of Gammon Group, at his office in Riyadh recently. Their talks figured mainly on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Gammon Group’s creative role in implementing it, according to Mohammed. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Fahd, Saleh Al-Faris, and Manoj Punjayil, managing director of the group. The Emir invited Gammon Group to play a positive role in implementing the Vision 2030, Mohammed said in a press statement. “We are extremely pleased to accept this invitation to play a role in materializing the Vision, which has been designed in a way to ensure a shining future for the Kingdom through accelerating comprehensive growth of the nation and prosperity of the people. Our group will be in the forefront in implementing projects in infrastructure, education and health sectors by utilizing the vast investment opportunities,” he said. According to Mohammed, Prince Saud Bin Musaed Bin Abdul Aziz, president of Gammon Middle East Group, is pivotal in furthering this vision. He said, the group under Prince Saud is keen to play a crucial role in implementing the National Transformation Program. “The Vision, unveiled by Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, will definitely be pointing to a shining future of Saudi Arabia, with a key role for the younger generation. The Vision will herald a new era of massive growth and a giant leap in development in almost all sectors of the Kingdom,” he said while hoping that the Vision will give a strong foundation for economic progress, and prosperity for the vibrant society. “The architects of this Vision, with their farsightedness and compassion, will enable the Kingdom to scale new heights of glory as the leading Islamic nation.” Mohammed said the group will be participating in huge projects such as 1,500-bed hospital, international school with Cambridge syllabus, and various infrastructure and construction projects. The Gammon Group, with its corporate office in Jeddah, has been assigned to develop the SR75 billion Jazan Industrial City by bringing in foreign investors to build its entire infrastructure facilities. Major Indian, Chinese and European firms have already entered into agreements to invest in the Jazan project. Gammon earlier signed bilateral entrepreneurship agreement with the Canadian real estate development giant Ideal Developments Inc. Recently, the group and the Saudi Canadian Business Council (SCBC) unveiled plans to tie up in implementing mega investment projects in the Kingdom.
