RIYADH — A fire broke out in the residential quarters for nurses at Old Wadi Al-Dawasir Hospital. Firefighting and rescue teams, aside from support services and Red Crescent paramedics, rushed to the scene.

The Civil Defense teams evacuated 62 nurses in the building to safety. One of the nurses was taken to Wadi Al-Dawasir General Hospital after she suffered from smoke inhalation. Her condition is reported to be stable.

The fire broke out in a 20 sq. meter room with a corridor 2 meters wide and 10 meters long on the third floor of the building. This caused thick smoke to spread on the entire floor, said Maj. Muhammad Al-Hammadi, spokesman for Riyadh Province Civil Defense.
