RABIGH — Twenty-four companies have offered 1,250 jobs with salaries ranging from SR4,000 to SR20,000 to Saudi graduates of Tumouh program who have specialized in computer science.
The jobs were offered during an employment fair at King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh on Tuesday, which was backed by Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.
Ahmed Lingawi, executive vice president of KAEC, told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that Tumouh is one of the city’s major initiatives to achieve sustainable development.
“It aims at training and educating 1,000 young Saudi men and women in Rabigh and its neighboring villages as part of ongoing efforts to realize the Vision 2030,” he said.
The program, which was launched three years ago, was instrumental in training 700 Saudi men and women, Lingawi said, adding that they work now in various companies.
The four-month course will enable trainees to obtain various skills required by the job market and get employed quickly. The course is conducted at King Abdulaziz University’s campus in Rabigh, making use of the university’s teaching facilities.
“We have signed a partnership agreement with KAU for this purpose,” he added.
Male graduates represent 45 percent of the beneficiaries of new jobs offered by companies while females accounted for 55 percent.
The jobs offered included business management, production, marketing, human resource management, call center operators, management of control room at the port, customer services, and administrative jobs, Lingawi explained.
Highly qualified graduates such as computer experts electrical engineers and mechanical engineers will receive salaries between SR4,000 and SR20,000 depending upon their skills and expertise.
Companies offer attractive benefits including housing and participation in continuous training courses. Graduates can also make use of KAEC facilities, he said.
“We have been successful in finding good jobs for our graduates,” Lingawi said.
Mallak Al-Jundi, a graduate who works for the HR department of Hanco, was happy over joining the program. “It helped me to get a suitable job quickly near my home. I got the job with a salary of SR5,000 soon after graduating from Tumouh,” she told Okaz/Saudi Gazette.
