The Shoura Council on Wednesday called on the Ministry of Transport to take adequate measures to improve the taxi service in the Kingdom. The council underlined the need for coordination between the ministry and concerned agencies to ensure a highly professional and excellent taxi service. The council’s President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh chaired the session. Yahya Al-Samaan, assistant president of the council, said the session made the observations while discussing a report of its Transport, Communications and IT Committee. The report was prepared after taking into consideration the views and opinions of the members on the annual report of the ministry, read out by the committee’s chairman Nasser Al-Otaibi. The council also instructed the ministry to upgrade the international roads that connect the Kingdom with the neighboring countries with an increase of lanes, more public utilities and better safety measures.
