RIYADH — The Saudi Grains Organization announced on Thursday a new international tender for the import of 300,000 tons of durum wheat in September. The consignment should be shipped by three freighters via Jeddah Islamic Port and two freighters via King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. Director General of the Organization Ahmed Al-Faris said in a statement the quantity of wheat represents the third installment for this year. He pointed out that it comes as a continuation of the organization's plan to cover domestic consumption and maintain strategic reserves of wheat used in flour production to meet the needs of citizens, residents and visitors of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Holy Mosque.
