Slums have mushroomed, like malignant cancer cells on a healthy body, across major cities in the Arab world as a result of poor planning and system failure.
Some areas of the cities have been systemically neglected and ignored, allowing them to become hotbeds of unemployment, crime and chaos.
Discrimination of this population is not a unique and extraordinary situation but a mirror of the slums that has spread and become a pillar in public life. There are political and economic slums, intellectual, social and religious slums as well. Due to “slums” in political decisions, the entire Middle East region has paid a high price: Saddam Hussein’s decision to invade Kuwait, Bashar Assad’s decision to destroy his people, Hassan Nasrallah’s decision to fight in defense of Bashar Assad and other barbaric decisions which are politely considered as slums.
In the media, especially on television programs, the language of the streets and slums is exhibited as well and it has thus become fashionable to watch participants’ move hands in a quarreling and argumentative manner. This is also noticed in religious television programs, which is simply not acceptable.
Slums menace is not a developmental situation but inevitably a moral situation which overcomes the language of the streets and it is certainly a moral case where the language of the streets overcomes the logic of morality, civility and sophistication. Matters have developed and there are “acceptance” and “glorification” of slum morality and behavior, and used the means of social communication in various forms “for the deployment of dirty laundry” in a naive and stupid way.
Slums is not the only case of development but a general situation which alone allows the emergence of such figures as Hassan Nasrallah who speaks about his respectable values which is resistance but at the same time he is killing innocent people in broad daylight in Syria. Slums have emerged in every corner of the earth; in schools, under the dome of parliaments, in capital markets and in space as well. The size of slums has spread as far as invisible acceptance to allow it to more incursions.
Slums fatwas are evolved to develop extremism until we reached a stage of exporting terrorism. The economy of slums is focused on producing raw materials and neglected the area of manufacturing of these raw materials, while other countries outperformed and developed this raw material into valuable products. Cultural slum evolved extreme social speech. This type of speech produces racism and discrimination and leads to fragile societies, which does not trust each other.
Discrimination is not only a state of development, it is a general case we live in and signs and symptoms are all over the place. If the superpower built a policy in the region on the idea of creating chaotic state, the Arabs accepted to coexist with the idea of destructive slum.
