JEDDAH — The police arrested an Eritrean woman for driving without a license, breaking her fast in the day time and committing khilwa (being in the company of non-related male).
Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said the woman’s case was forwarded to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.
“The woman, in her 30s, was in a car with a man who was not her mahram.
They were both eating during the day in Ramadan. She was also driving the car without a license and crashed into two cars. She was detained for investigation but her Arab male companion released her on bail. She may face imprisonment as she has committed a criminal offence,” said Al-Qurashi.
He added she was driving the car of her companion and she will be sued through the Traffic Department by the owners of the damaged cars.
