RIYADH — The concerned Saudi authorities have given the nod for recruitment of Yemeni doctors to work in the health sector in the Kingdom.
Quoting informed sources, Makkah daily said on Monday that the move was within the Kingdom's immense facilities being extended to the Yemeni people to work in Saudi Arabia under its existing rules and regulations.
The Kingdom has recently started granting the Yemenis with "visitor visas" permanent iqamas (residence permits) which enabled them to work and have access to free medical treatment and education.
The Council of Saudi Chambers has asked the concerned authorities to allow recruitment of Yemeni medical doctors, especially those working in a number of Arab countries, to come for work in the Kingdom.
Informed sources said ministries of interior, health and labor and social development have joined hands in welcoming the Yemeni medical cadre in the Kingdom. The three ministries made it clear that there was nothing against recruitment of Yemeni medical doctors. They recalled that the foreign ministry has recently enabled the Yemenis staying in the Kingdom with visitor's visa, to bring their wives on an open visit visa that will be valid during their entire stay in the Kingdom.
