A piece of the puzzle!

POLITICS in the workplace was and is always the major obstacle in business development worldwide; where diverse employees move from working together to achieve a common goal to working against each other to make the goal of others fail. Employees compete against each other to show they are the “good guys” while their colleagues are the “bad guys”. To avoid such an obstacle you need to create a healthy working environment by adapting a team working concept and developing a team in the office. Changes are not needed in terms of employees’ nationality, gender, religion or even their hairstyle. However, there is a need to look beyond, at a fundamental change process and at the beliefs which stir behavior and are needed to elevate the perception of employees and their relation to others. When employees finally grasp that each member of the team has unique characteristics‫ ‬and is a particular element, that each is unique and a certain piece of the puzzle that is needed to complete the whole and get the full picture, then their perception and relation to others will be elevated. A team working concept will be achieved only when employees unite for one goal, as a single piece of a puzzle that supports the whole.   Ali Al-Aradi, Dubai
