JEEDAH — BCT-JBS Pro shop team qualified for the championship finals when it succeeded in its last match against Micah’s Pride placing the latter in playoff pool, while Cool Guys sustained second place on a sweep over Marinduqueños in the 26th week and the closure of the second round of the Friday Morning Bowling League 17th meet at the Bowling City here.
With Rommel Cagampang besting BCT-JBS board with 711 (hi-game 287) and TC Emil Payongayong, Edward Botardo, Romel Agbayani, Eloisa Fernandez and Jimmy Aragones concretely combining for the rest, Micah’s Pride succumbed to 18-4 (3,765-3,647) final settlement. Micah’s Pride actually put up a valiant fight causing it to win Game Towo at 1,247-1,188 with Oca Bernabe rolling the best at 265 and Melvin Lising, Paolo Allego, Rolly Vistal, Nethneth Cerbito and TC/TM Ester Santoc solidly supporting. But the two-game wins of BCT-JBS at 1,304-1,155 and 1,293-1,245 finally gave Payongayong-captained squad its first hope for the title since 2007.
Meanwhile, with 12-point gap from BCT-JBS (906-894) prior to this session, Cool Guys also had the chance for first finalist slot when it blanked Marinduqueños. But low output of 3,394-3,118 made this Jun de Dios-captained team only sustained second finisher to battle the stepladder-1 survivor and have the chance to face BCT-JBS for the championship. Nezar Alhamwi was instrumental for this victory, leading Cool Guys with 703. Team captain James Monteleyola shielded Marinqueños with 610.
Keeping the third and fourth ranks are Ekis-8 and Pin Slasher when they won against Sagmit Dental Clinic and Casadores, respectively. Winning the last Team of the Week honor was the Lane Axis who routed Liquidators-3 at 20-2 (3856-3670). Lane Axis finished fifth at five-point shy from Pin Slasher at 819-811.
