JEDDAH — Qaderoon Business Disability Network has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeddah Municipality for collaborative efforts in offering persons with disabilities the best services.

Mayor of Jeddah Dr. Hani Mohammad Aburas and Qaderoon Network Executive Manager Khalid Sindi signed the accord.

Under the agreement, Sindi said the two parties would develop programs and activities that will cater to different categories in the community in order to raise awareness for children, youth, or women with disabilities. Entertaining, informative, and voluntary activities will also be held.

Sindi further said Qaderoon’s vision is greatly compatible with the Saudi Vision 2030 that aims to enable persons with disabilities to find appropriate job opportunities, as well as education that guarantees their independence and inclusion as affective members of the society, while providing all services and accommodations they need to ensure their success.

Sindi reiterates the network’s mission, saying that "through Qaderoon, we aim to include persons with disabilities in society and the national workforce by providing guidance, advice, training and best practices to businesses and other stakeholders in employing jobseekers with disabilities and serving customers with disabilities through inclusive environments and supportive legislation.”

Moreover, Sindi called for the removal of stereotypes and negative mindset about the involvement of persons with disabilities in the community. He underscored the importance of working in social projects that will positively affect the community and contribute in developing Jeddah City to become a role model.

Qaderoon and Jeddah Municipality goals are united to serve the individual, the community, and especially persons with disabilities, he pointed out.
Dr. Hani Aburas, meanwhile, gave the assurance that the Jeddah Municipality will do its utmost to offer all means of support for persons with disabilities, as reflected in various initiatives it launched, such as the Al-Erada Park – a walkway for persons who are visually impaired, and linking building permits to their accessibility for persons with disabilities.
