Samar Yahya JEDDAH — The Islamic Corporation for Development (ICD) organized an Eid program for children at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, which was the first event under the organization’s community engagement initiative. The event included face painting and other activities aimed at providing some relief and happiness to children who are diagnosed with cancer receiving treatment at the hospital. The children were unable to join Eid celebrations at home because of their conditions. Nearly 60 children currently receiving treatment at the hospital attended the event. The ICD team also visited children who were unable to leave their rooms to attend the programs. The ICD is an affiliate of the Islamic Development Bank. The new hospital will have 650 beds, including150 bed for intensive care, 30 large operation rooms, 16 procedure rooms, 90 beds for outpatient surgery, and 50 dialysis units.
